AfricaVsVirus was a 72-hour global hackathon hosted by the African Development Bank Group to develop effective solutions for the coronavirus pandemic in Africa. The initiative brought together 25,000 participants from all over Africa to design and prototype tech and non-tech solutions. WAAT was brought in to develop a website, build a system for participant registration and design a communication strategy for the platform, all in just a few weeks time.

Digital Cities Challenge (DCC) was a European Commission initiative to accelerate digital transformation and industrial modernization in 41 European cities through coaching and facilitation. The success of the project led to it being expanded in the 100 Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC) to include a bigger network, wider scope and increased resources. WAAT played an integral role in underpinning DCC with digital support and continues to play a key role in the successor project ICC.

European Job Days (EJD) are Europe-wide online and onsite recruitment fairs matching job seekers with employers across borders and nationalities. When the European Employment Services and the European Commission wanted to grow and expand their offering across Europe in a way which would extend accessibility and enhance the user experience, they turned to WAAT for help.

The Socialists & Democrats Group is the leading centre-left political group in the European Parliament and the second largest, with 187 members from all 28 EU countries. The Group stands for an inclusive European society based on principles like freedom, equality, solidarity, diversity, and fairness. WAAT was selected to update their entire web presence to give it a modern feel, increase traffic and communicate their work clearly.

The mission of the Global NITAG Network is to make efficient and evidence-based recommendations on immunisation through global collaboration and cooperation with input from regional networks. WAAT was selected to rebuild the web-based NITAG platform to make the database and digital library more accessible and searchable, as well as making the website more user-friendly and visually appealing.

HEInnovate is a free self-assessment tool for higher education institutions (HEIs) to explore their entrepreneurial and innovative potential. Launched by the European Commission and OECD, it allows HEIs to diagnose their strengths and weaknesses, and kickstart internal discussions on their entrepreneurial nature. We were involved in the project to revamp the website, make the tool more user-friendly and increase engagement.

IMPACT Initiatives is a leading think-and-do tank which organises humanitarian aid for populations in crisis. WAAT was tasked with creating an effective data visualisation portal for the Emergency Response Mechanism (ERM) Afghanistan to support aid practitioners in better understanding the local provinces they serve and allow them to quickly identify districts with specific requirements.

We worked with an internal innovation lab for an industry leading automotive company to develop an existing idea into a minimum viable product (MVP). The idea was an e-mobility platform for electric car owners and enthusiasts to compare cars and driving experience. To avoid spending too much time or resources in developing the MVP, the organisation sought an external team to execute.

Plutio came to us to help them develop an MVP for an all-encompassing business management platform for freelancers, that brings a host of useful tools like project management, time tracking, invoices and CRM into one place. As a young startup with a clear vision and limited resources, they needed the extra capacity to deliver a digital product they could start validating on real users.
