With the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into force in the next two months, companies and organisations that handle data relating to EU citizens have a number of changes to make to their systems and processes.
From 25 May 2018, all companies doing business with customers in Europe, regardless of the company’s location or where the data is processed, will be governed by GDPR. The GDPR is a new Regulation and Directive by the European Commission to ensure EU data subjects' fundamental right to privacy and the protection of personal data. Noncompliance can be as costly as EUR 20 million in fines or 4% of a company’s total global revenue.
Having developed a GDPR toolkit that inspects systems to make sure they are in line with the new rules, WAAT has spent the last few months working with companies to track and manage their user data, detect undocumented user data, create user data logs on request, and generate consent pop ups, among other things.
Now we are sharing some of the insights gained around the most common pitfalls and challenges companies face in getting GDPR compliant and the solutions that work. Join us for our upcoming webinar, How To Prepare For The EU General Data Protection Regulation, if you would like to get a better understanding of the new rules and what you have to do to get complaint and stay complaint.
Topics will include:
GDPR basics
Key regulations to consider
